Kenya won 11 medals in Paris, including four golds, two silvers, and five bronzes, to lead Africa and rank 17th overall.
Faith Kipyegon: My experience in the women’s 5000M race took a lot of energy from me; it was very emotional for me. I still don’t know how I was able to come out of that and do well in the 1500M race and make History pic.twitter.com/og1nHiT41V

“Let me take this opportunity to say thank you to the Government, Sports Ministry, and NOC-K for the support and for that, we were able to perform,” stated Faith.
Faith Kipyegon won silver in the women’s 5000m and gold in the 1500m.
“My biggest goal was to defend my country over 1500m. It is still emotional for me [over what happened in 5000m] and I thank my coach and my teammates for talking to me. They told me you got this [to compete and challenge in the 1500],” she said.
Beatrice Chebet, a double gold medalist, was beaming as she returned home for the first time since winning the Paris course in two races.
