KENYA’S TALLEST MAN? 27-Year-Old Marongo Opens Up About His Personal Life And Daily Challenges
‘The tallest man in Nairobi.’ Bradley Marongo has revealed how he traveled from Majengo in Vihiga County to Nairobi, where he now enjoys newfound fame.
Marongo, who stands 8 feet 2 inches tall, set tongues wagging when he was spotted walking the streets during the Gen Z protests.
“My friend Mose, who works with one of the buses plying the Nairobi-Western region routes one day told me that he was an upcoming artiste shooting some of his music videos but was yet to make it into the mainstream music scene, asked to come with me to Nairobi,” Marongo revealed in an interview with a local TV station on Friday, August 16, 2024.
When asked how he fit in a bus designed for people of average height, Marongo explained that he sat on the floor mat along the aisle towards the driver’s side.

“Nilikaa na yeye(Mose) hapo mbele kwa mkeka,” he narrated. (I sat on the mat on the bus floor)
Marongo’s height has propelled him into the public eye, with content creators vying for a piece of him in recent times.
However, he laments that finding clothes that fit him remains a nightmare, pointing out that he has never worn a closed shoe in his life.
“Kupata time kuendea nguo ndio noma, Nikienda soko wanajaa wanataka kuona huyu mtu mrefu ametoka wapi,” (I never have the time to shop for clothes but when I go looking for second-hand clothes in the market, I get stared at, with the public wondering where this tall person has emerged from),” Barongo said.
He revealed that he only owns two pairs of sandals, which are custom-made for his size and preferences.
Marongo also stated that he is married with two daughters who live with his wife in Vihiga.
The 27-year-old Gen Z says he only wears second-hand basketball jerseys because they are the only clothes that fit him properly.
He claims to work as a tout in Nairobi and wears shoe size 48, which he has yet to find.
Marongo says his current goal is to become famous, and he plans to quit his job as a Kamagera(tout) and pursue fame.
