KWS Ranger Storms Night Club, Fatally Shoots Rongai Man Before Turning On Self
Police are looking into an incident in which a KWS ranger shot himself dead on Saturday morning after allegedly killing a man in Rongai Town, Kajiado North Sub County.
The deceased ranger is said to have stormed a nightclub in Rongai in the early hours of Saturday morning, shooting the person dead before killing himself.
The nightclub is located on Mugis Road in the Tumaini area. According to a police report filed at the Ongata Rongai Police Station, the ranger entered the club and ordered its closure.
He then ordered everyone inside to lie down and cover their faces, after which he shot one person dead.

“He proceeded to shoot one person three times in the back and on the head and directed that everyone remain in that position till morning,” a police report stated.
According to sources familiar with the tragedy, the ranger confronted the deceased around 8 p.m. on Friday.
He is said to have left the club and then returned armed, shooting the deceased.
According to sources, the suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle, heading towards Nairobi.
The ranger is said to have gone to his house and taken his life.
It was determined that the officer was on guard duty in the Central Workshop at the time he committed the offense.
At his home, police discovered a magazine containing 20 live bullets.
“The gun and the ammunition have been kept as exhibit awaiting ballistic examination,” a Police report filed at Lang’ata Police station said.
The Rongai nightclub scene was also examined, and three spent cartridges were recovered and preserved as an exhibit.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased ranger has been kept at Nairobi Funeral Home.
