3 KDF Officers Violently Clash With Kware Police As Tensions Rise Between The TWO Forces

The streets of Embakasi erupted in chaos early Wednesday morning when a routine police patrol turned violent, resulting in the arrest of three Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers.

The incident has raised new concerns about the escalating tensions between Kenya’s military and police forces, which has grown increasingly volatile.

Officers from the Kware Police Station were conducting a routine patrol in the Pipeline area around 1:30 a.m. when they detained two people.

As the suspects were being transported to the station, an unidentified man suddenly leaped into the police vehicle and launched a violent attack on one of the officers, grabbing her by the neck and attempting to strangle her.

According to the OB report, during the subsequent struggle, the two detained suspects joined the attacker, escalating the situation even further.

The officer, fighting for her life, reached for her firearm, resulting in an accidental discharge.

The assailant received a gunshot wound to the right thigh, while the officer suffered bruises on her neck and ripped clothing.

The wounded suspect was immediately transported to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, when the two detainees arrived at the police station, they continued to be aggressive and refused to identify themselves.

Only after a tense standoff did they reveal their true identities as KDF officers, even producing the injured suspect’s military ID.

This incident is now the latest in a string of confrontations between police officers and military personnel, raising concerns about the root causes of these clashes.

The situation in Embakasi is similar to one that occurred in April when KDF personnel clashed with police officers at the Likoni Ferry crossing in Mombasa.

That altercation, captured on amateur video, featured armed soldiers and police officers in a heated exchange, escalating public concerns.

The Embakasi incident, which is currently being investigated by detectives, has reignited debate about the relationship between Kenya’s security forces.

The KDF and National Police Service (NPS) are both tasked with maintaining order and security in the country, but these recent events suggest a growing rift that may have serious implications for national stability.

As the investigation continues, many people are left wondering what caused the violent encounter and why KDF officers got involved in such an altercation during what should have been a routine police operation.

The increasing frequency of these incidents suggests that this is not a one-off problem, but rather part of a larger issue that requires immediate attention from the highest levels of government and military leadership.

Tensions between the KDF and the NPS are not new, but recent public displays of hostility have brought the issue to the forefront.

Whether at ferry crossings, roadblocks, or police stations, these confrontations are becoming increasingly common, undermining public trust in Kenya’s security forces’ ability to collaborate effectively.
