‘We will fight them’ – Kalonzo Declares Opposition Will Form Shadow Cabinet
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has announced that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya, the opposition political formation, will form its own Cabinet in the coming days.
Kalonzo, who spoke at a Katiba@14 event at Ufungamano House on Wednesday, stated that the opposition’s Cabinet will include Kenyans of all ages, including Generation Zs who have recently demonstrated against the government.
He stated that the unofficial ministerial team will be tasked with shadowing President William Ruto’s Cabinet and holding them accountable.
The self-proclaimed official opposition leader also downplayed President Ruto’s Luo Nyanza trip, which began the same day.

Kalonzo claimed that Kenyans are already aware of his true colors and that if elections were held today, he would be unable to win.
“The first major announcement we’re going to make from Ufungamano is we’re going to form a shadow Cabinet, na Gen Zs na generation zote mtashirikishwa,” he said.
“We must fight these people from every corner…from every ministry…they will be held accountable…and we work with the Gen Zs and all the generations.”
Kalonzo continued; “We will fight them at every stage; we will fight them from the mountaintops, the valleys, the street corners…we will not allow them to make this country a Banana Republic. Don’t be worried even if he goes to Luo Nyanza 20 times to launch projects 30 times, Kenyans know him.”
Yes, I am ready to be the Leader of the Official Opposition.

The remarks follow President Ruto’s recent appointment of a broad-based Cabinet, which includes leaders from the opposition Azimio-allied Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
The move sparked outrage from both citizens and politicians, with Azimio constituent parties opposing it.
