Kakamega Man Hacks Father To Death Over Missing Pig, Police Arrest Highway Robbers

A 25-year-old man murdered his father after a disagreement over a pig in the Shilalyo village of Shinyalu, Kakamega County.

The man and his grandfather got into a fight on Sunday night after he returned home and discovered his pig had gone missing.

As the 49-year-old father of ten attempted to separate them, his son hacked him on the head and ran away.

Police are looking for the 25-year-old, and the deceased’s body has been taken to the Kakamega Referral Hospital.

Meanwhile, three suspects have been arrested for robbery on a highway in Kibwezi, Makueni County.

The arrests came after officers from the Kibwezi Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) opened an investigation into the disappearance of a lorry carrying 522 bags of rice along the highway.

According to the National Police Service, six men intercepted an Isuzu lorry with the registration number KCY 107U transporting rice from Mombasa to Nairobi and took control of it in the Thange area.

The suspects have been identified as Francis Mutiso, a Kibwezi Police Station officer who was dressed in full uniform and armed, Juda Kipkoech Kandie, and John Maingi.
