Ruto Donates Ksh2 Million To Endarasha Academy, Yet To Meet The School Owner
President William Ruto promised to meet with the owner of Hillside Endarasha Academy, where 21 students died in a fire, in order to get the school back up and running.
The President promised to meet with the owner of Hillside Endarasha Academy shortly after the investigations were completed to discuss the next steps.
He was speaking at a church service in Nyeri AIPCA Central Western Archdiocese, Nyeri County, on Sunday.
“I will look for Mr Kinyua, the owner of the school, to see how we can help,” the President stated.

“After investigations are concluded, we will see how we will be able to help that school so that it continues providing education to our children.”
At the same time, President Ruto donated Ksh2 million to help those who lost their belongings in the fire buy replacements.
“Those whose property was burnt. The governor has told me they are about 140,” the Head of State directed.
“I will send the MP of Kieni with Ksh2 million to buy things that got burnt for pupils so that our children can get back to school.”
The President has also appointed Kieni MP Wainana Njoroge to lead the process of helping affected people back to their feet.
The Ksh2 million will be used to purchase new boxes, school uniforms, and other items that were destroyed during the night fire.
“We will arrange for the burial of the children who lost their lives together with their parents,” the President further offered while condoling with the families who lost their loved ones.
It comes as investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire. After conducting an investigation in the school on Tuesday, Kenya Power ruled out the possibility that the fire was caused by an electrical fault.
Separately, the president revealed that the government is planning to hire an additional 20,000 teachers to help improve education in the country.
President Ruto had previously attended a service at the Stewards Revival Pentecostal Church in Nairobi in the morning, shortly after landing from Germany.
