Mob Stones Man To Death For Attacking A Police Officer, Stole AK47 Gun
On Tuesday in Emali, Makueni County, a man attacked a police officer before stealing his firearm.
According to police, the incident occurred while the officer and his colleague were guarding Kwitu DT Sacco.
The unknown 35-year-old man is said to have approached the officer with a panga concealed by tucking it inside his trousers.
Police said the man removed the panga and cut the officer on the forehead, causing a deep cut.
The attacker then stole the officer’s AK47 firearm and 30 rounds of ammunition before fleeing while shooting to scare the public.
Police, with the assistance of the public, pursued the suspect and seized the firearm, 23 rounds of ammunition, and panga.
According to police, the weapon became jammed, and the suspect had no idea how to unlock it.
The locals and police then cornered him.
Police claimed they were overpowered by the mob, which stoned the suspect to death.
