ODM Cries Foul Over Gachagua’s Political Trajectory, Issues Fiery Statement
Gladys Wanga, Chairperson of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), slammed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday after he made controversial remarks about President Ruto’s administration.
While speaking to journalists in Kusumu, the Homa Bay Governor accused Gachagua of engaging in premature politics rather than addressing Kenyans’ challenges.
According to Wanga, the deputy president’s interview on Citizen TV was an attempt to divert Kenyans’ attention away from serious national issues.
“When anybody from the presidency comes out to address the country, Kenyans expect that they will be hearing from the deputy president about how they are dealing with these challenges that are facing Kenyans,” Wanga stated.

Wanga also claimed that Gachagua’s outrage against the government stemmed from President William Ruto’s decision to appoint a number of opposition politicians to his administration.
While criticizing Gachagua, the governor blamed the DP for soaring political divisions, which she claimed were detrimental to the country.
“The bitterness is arising from the fact that other people who are not considered shareholders by the deputy president have now come forward to participate in this company that is called Kenya,” Wanga alleged.
The DP was also accused of addressing members of the public in his vernacular, despite being a symbol of national unity.
“Once he took the oath as the country’s deputy president, he ceased to be a man who can only converse with his people in his vernacular,” Rozza Buyu told me.
“Once he took the oath as the country’s deputy president, he ceased to be a man who can only converse with his people in his vernacular,” commented Rozza Buyu.
“His vernacular is for him when he is in the village. But when he talks, for instance in Marikiti, where there are tribes, 42 tribes doing business there, he shouldn’t break to the vernacular.”
The ODM members’ remarks come a day after the Deputy President attacked President Ruto’s administration, accusing a group of leaders of attempting to destabilize him.
Gachagua, while addressing a rally in Nairobi Central Business District, stated that he had received information about plans by a section of MPs affiliated with Kenya Kwanza to impeach him.
