‘We Thank God!’ – Atwoli Congratulates President Trump After BIG US Election Win
On Thursday, the Central Organisation of Trade Unions in Kenya (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli congratulated US President-elect Donald Trump.
Atwoli announced that Kenyan workers had warmly welcomed his re-election, citing Kenya’s strong relationship with the United States.
In a statement, Atwoli thanked God for protecting Trump and wished him well in his second term.
“The Central Organization of Trade Unions (Kenya), COTU (K), would like to congratulate President-elect Donald J. Trump following his election as the 47th President of the United States of America,” read the statement in part.
“Indeed, we thank God for saving and protecting Trump to lead America at such a critical time.”

Atwoli also described Trump’s victory as a breath of fresh air that would restore global stability to the world stage.
“As Kenyan workers, it remains our hope and trust that President Trump will usher in the much-needed sanity considering the rise of ungodly leaders with ungodly public policies, which transcend their borders, on the very platform,” said Atwoli.
He went on to say that Trump’s leadership would benefit several countries because he is not afraid to express his views on a variety of important issues.
“Noteworthy, countries world over are in dire need of strong leaders who are equally God fearing and can take decisive action on numerous issues at the global stage,” said Atwoli.
He also urged Trump to acknowledge and collaborate with the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) to improve the welfare and interests of American workers, whose votes helped him win.
COTU’s statement comes shortly after the Kenyan government, through Trade Principal Secretary (PS) Alfred K’Ombudo, denied reports that reelection would result in the cancellation of several trade agreements with the United States.

“Kenya and the United States of America have a long-standing trade, investment, and development cooperation relationship that is based on common and enduring principles,” K’Ombudo stated while responding to a publication by Business Daily.
Several other Kenyan politicians congratulated Trump and expressed confidence in his leadership.
On Wednesday, President Ruto congratulated Trump on his reelection and expressed his desire for continued cooperation between the two countries.
“As you embark on this phase of your journey of leadership, Kenya stands ready to further enhance our cooperation on matters of mutual interest including trade, investment, technology & innovation, peace and security, and sustainable development,” Ruto stated.
