Uhuru PointMan Reveals Kalonzo-Matiang’i Alliance For 2027 Polls

On Sunday, November 24, Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni revealed details of an upcoming grand coalition, which, if enacted, would bring together political heavyweights who are neither aligned with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) or the Kenya Kwanza Government.

Speaking at a church service at the Jesus Teaching Ministry in Embakasi East, Kioni indicated that the movement, led by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, will include leaders like former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Tranz Nzoia Governor George Natembeya.

“We follow Kalonzo because we know he has the ability and the vision to help Kenya. He has helped before and he will continue to help,” Kioni stated.

“We have mentioned the names of those we want in the grand coalition because we need to unseat Ruto. We have to come together as a group to remove him from office. We have to make sure it is a one-touch deal.”

He went on to explain that in order for the grand alliance to unseat President Ruto in a single attempt, they needed to put together formidable leaders capable of toppling him.

“So that it happens in one touch, we want to bring leaders like Matiang’i and Natembeya together to ensure Ruto goes home,” he added.

Kioni dismissed reports that the former cabinet secretary had a pending case in court, stating that the President also had a pending case at the International Criminal Court.

Since fractures began to appear in the Azimio coalition following ODM Party leader Raila Odinga’s intention to warm up to President Ruto, details about the grand coalition have emerged from various sources.

When his party departed the Azimio coalition, DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa revealed information about the grand alliance, although presenting himself as the presidential candidate under the banner.

In his address on November 18, Wamalwa also mentioned heavyweights being courted to join the movement, including Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni, and even former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

As more information becomes available, it appears that the former vice president will take the lead, with Kioni even referring to him as the opposition’s leader.

If successful in getting the prominent figures together, the political equations will shift, bringing together former opposition leaders and previous ruling government officials, making the 2027 general elections the most difficult yet.
