“He has been re-arrested by police and placed in custody while appearing fit, pending collection by Menengai Police Station.”
Wanjiku was found with many stab wounds and severed hands on November 22, prompting a report of attempted murder at Nakuru’s Kiamunyi Police Post.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was attacked by her partner, who is also a business associate at a Nairobi real estate firm.
The event occurred at their rental home in Nakuru City following domestic squabbles that escalated and resulted in violence. Following the event, Florence was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The woman and her partner had a tranquil relationship that culminated in investing and starting a business together. However, the connection gradually deteriorated.
The suspect, a businessman and prominent leader at a Nairobi-based church, had been on the run for three days after reportedly assaulting his lover and slashing her 18 times, including slicing off her fingers.
Previously, the police issued an arrest warrant to the suspect, instructing him to present himself at the nearest police station or officer.

The church where the suspect is reported to have been a leader has distanced itself from the situation, urging security officials to expedite investigations and bring the person to justice.
This was just another incidence of gender-based violence attacks in the country, which has recently seen an increase in femicide cases.
According to the National Police Service’s most recent figures, femicide instances have increased slightly in the last three months, with 97 women murdered during that time.
On October 29, the Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA-Kenya) encouraged President William Ruto to consider declaring femicide a national crisis in light of the heinous murder of numerous women in the previous month.
