Hussein Mohammed, CEO of Extreme Sports, has been voted as the next President of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) in an election held on Saturday, December 7.
Mohammed received 42 votes out of 90 in the elections held at the Moi International Sports Centre, Indoor Arena in Kasarani.

In the closely contested elections, former FKF chief Nick Mwendwa and his colleague Dorris Petra finished second with 31 votes.

In third place, resigned federation CEO Barry Otieno received 10 votes, closely followed by Cleophas Shimanyula in fourth position with 4 votes.
Hussein Mohamed will succeed Nick Mwendwa, who led the Federation for six years beginning in 2016.
The elections were initially forced into a runoff since all of the candidates failed to reach the 50% threshold in the first round. However, Mohammed emerged victorious in the second round of elections.
Four coaches and referees were among those who took part in the elections, with the others being delegates from various counties.
The 90 delegates voted for a variety of positions, including the federation’s president, deputy president, and members of the National Executive Committee.
Hussein Mohammed addressed Kenyans after winning the top seat, thanking the delegates who took part in the voting process while vowing to improve the federation.
