‘I Ran Out Of Excuses!’ – Uhuru Kenyatta Recalls Delaying Tricks On Daughter Ngina’s Wedding

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta reminisced on Saturday, about his daughter Ngina Kenyatta’s 2022 wedding.

In an emotional address at Kalonzo Musyoka’s daughter’s wedding, Uhuru described how difficult it was to say goodbye to his daughter and how he attempted every trick in the book to postpone the moment.

“One of the most difficult things to do is saying kwaheri (goodbye) to a daughter. I went through that,” he said in his speech.

“I tried every trick in the book to delay the wedding; blaming Covid, the upcoming elections, urging her to wait a bit and plan. Eventually, I ran out of excuses.”

In his speech, the former President praised the groom, Martin Nyaga, for choosing to marry Kalonzo’s daughter, Damarie Saada, in the proper manner.

“You decided to come through the front door. That is a sign of a boy well brought up and we congratulate you,” he said.

He then made the attendees chuckle by wishing that the dance session had lasted longer, despite the fact that he had only recently begun dancing.

Uhuru was the centerpiece of the outdoor wedding held in Naivasha over the weekend with his rare appearance prompting different reactions from Kenyans.

In wedding photos shared on X, Uhuru is shown engaging with Kalonzo and other political heavyweights who attended the wedding, including Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni and DAP-K party head Eugene Wamalwa.

Ngina Kenyatta married Alex Mwai in a traditional ceremony held in secret in June 2022.
