Residents Stop Ruto’s Speech From Being Read At Jamhuri Event
Residents of Nyandarua County erupted when President William Ruto’s address was about to be read during the 61st Jamhuri Day celebrations.
The incident occurred at Engineer Stadium when Nyandarua County Commissioner Mohamed Barre entered the platform to read Ruto’s Jamhuri address.
The previously placid throng erupted in outrage, raising their voices and throwing their hands in the air.
The county commissioner’s attempts to read the address were futile as the furious throng booed louder.
Members of the audience approached the podium where the speaker stood, yelling and essentially drowning out Barre’s voice.

The National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO) had to intervene quickly to defend the county commissioner from the hostile audience as he attempted to read the President’s address.
Dissatisfied with the county commissioner’s insistence on reading Ruto’s address, the guests staged a mass walkout from the venue, chanting anti-government slogans as they lingered around.
The resulting hubbub prompted the commissioner to cut his remarks short in the middle. It is not the first time a government official has faced a hostile audience while reading Ruto’s address.

On Sunday, October 20, Juja locals heckled President Ruto at his Mashujaa Day speech, which was delivered by the sub-county’s Deputy County Commissioner (DCC).

Following the same script as Nyandarua inhabitants, both young and old, the audience jeered, preventing the Head of State from delivering his speech.
Their noises grew into shouts of “Ruto Must Go,” which were sung in unison, obstructing the Deputy County Commissioner, who was attempting to control the situation with a public address system.
The next senior government official to be heckled is Kipchumba Murkomen, who was prevented from speaking at the Korom Festival in Eldoret on December 7.
Revellers jeered at the CS, preventing him from addressing the party meant to promote music and arts. Murkome’s remarks lasted under a minute.
