Mystery As 3 People Abducted Along Mai Mahiu Road By Masked Gunmen In Bomet

Two families in Bomet County are requesting information from the authorities on the whereabouts of their relatives.

On December 7, 2024, two individuals, Kevin Kiplangat alias Elvis and Dominic Kipng’eno alias Muge, were abducted while driving down Mahi Mahiu Road by armed men who were assumed to be police officers.

Families said efforts to locate the missing people have been ineffective, and their locations have remained unknown for the past five days.

According to witnesses, a Subaru motor vehicle trailing the Prado and carrying armed guys fired at it, deflating it.

The Prado veered off the road, and the occupants were abducted by hooded armed men.

Kiplangat, Kipng’eno, and an adult woman. Their mobile phones were quickly turned off as officers pulled the Prado to the Lari Police Station.

The reasons for their disappearance remain unknown, even as victims’ families demand answers from the state about their whereabouts.

The families say they were on their way to their hometown of Mulot, Bomet County.

A simple online check reveals that Kiplangat, one of the missing persons, has a long history of wrongdoing.

During the same period, Kiplangat and others were charged with robbery with violence in Kericho Law Court.

It is unclear whether their abduction is linked to a vast network of internet fraudsters and fraudulent actions carried out by cyber scammers.

Police investigating the unexplained kidnapping have stated that their probe is still ongoing.
