Ruto Makes New Appointments As Reshuffle Kicks Off
President William Ruto has appointed Stephen Maore to chair the Board of Directors of the Regional Centre for Groundwater Resources Education, Training, and Research in Eastern Africa.
Maore was appointed as board chairperson for three years by the Head of State in a gazette notification dated Friday, December 13, which became effective yesterday.
Stephen Maore is an expert in strategy, marketing, and brand management with over 16 years of experience in teaching and consulting.
He was the previous director and marketing strategist at Kenya Methodist University (KEMU), where his responsibilities included resource mobilization, relationship development, alumni coordination, branding, marketing, and communication.
Prior to his appointment, Maore taught International Business, Marketing, Brand Management, and Strategic Management at KeMU since 2006.
Maore has a PhD in Business Administration, a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics and Business Studies.
He is also an active member of the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), and the International Society for Leadership and Management.
In addition, the Head of State extended the human resources mandate for the health task group for sixty days, beginning January 5, 2025.
On July 5, 2024, Ruto established a 20-member task committee to develop comprehensive plans and policies to improve healthcare services in the country.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of assessing and addressing present issues and gaps in healthcare professional recruitment, replacement, training, and retention.

He appointed Khama Rogo as Chairperson and Judith Guserwa as Vice Chairperson of the Task Force.
Other task force members include Patrick Amoth, John Masasabi, Toseef Din, Wilson Aruasa, Doreen Rhoda Kanyua, Dennis Miskellah, Francis Wafula, Habiba Mohammed, Lucy Mburu, Collins Kiprono, Victor Miseda, and Christine Okoth.
“The management of human resources for health is a shared function between the two levels of government,” Ruto stated.
“The key challenges are however fragmentation and a disconnect in the management of health services and personnel.”
