Auctioneers Raid 2 Former MPs’ Properties, Including Home In Karen Amidst Economic Hardships
Prime property owned by former National Assembly members has been put up for public auction. Various auctioneers were chosen to manage the sales.
The properties include a prime residential property in Northwood Villas Miotoni Lane in Karen, Nairobi County, and a four-story building near Daystar University in Machakos County.
Charles Mutavi Kilonzo, a former Yatta Member of Parliament, owns the home property in Karen, which is approximately 500 meters straight west of West Nairobi School.
Norern Auctioneers describes the property as a five-bedroom ensuite townhouse with staff quarters.
Furthermore, the property is kept on a freehold title document and attached to key amenities such as water and electricity.
“All that parcel of land known as unit no. 11 on l.r no. 7336/44 registered i.n.o Charles Mutavi Kilonzo. The plot measures 0.5 Acres or thereabout. Developed on the plot is a five-bedroomed [all ensuite) townhouse with integrated ensuite Domestic Servants’ Quarters. The title is a freehold interest,” the notice by the auctioneer reads in part.
Naomi Namsi Shaban, former Taita Taveta Women Representative, owns the other prime property, which is a four-story building.
The subject property is situated off the main Daystar access road in the Daystar University Area of Mavoko Municipality, on the Athi River in Machakos County.
“All that parcel of land is known as 88 LR. NO. 20892/200 (ORIGINAL NO. 20892/14/10 I. R. NO. 98304) Daystar University – Lukenya, Off Daystar University Access Road, Mavoko Municipality, Machakos County registered in the name of Naomi Namsi Shaban c/o P. O. Box 107-80302 Taveta,” the notice reads in part.

“The subject property is situated right opposite Daystar University and approximately 250 meters due North of Lukenya Girls High School and easily identified on the ground as Alliance Apartments Athi River.”
The land is roughly 0.3669 hectares (0.907 acres) in size and includes a four-story residential building of apartments and a gatehouse.
“Each floor has three bedroomed (master ensuite) units (Total Built area 34,950 sq.ft). The title is a leasehold interest for a term of 949 years and 9 months w.e.f 01.04.1962,” the notice added.
The property will be auctioned at a public auction on January 23 at Queens Way and at Western Heights in Westlands in January 2025.
