President William Ruto has announced new Cabinet appointments, bringing numerous former lawmakers back into office.

According to Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, President Ruto has selected former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo to serve as Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy.

Kabogo is expected to take over the ICT portfolio from Dr. Margaret Nyambura, who has been named Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana.

Meanwhile, Mutahi Kagwe, former Health Cabinet Secretary under former President Uhuru Kenyatta, has been selected as Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture.

Kagwe will take up the Agriculture portfolio from Dr. Andrew Karanja, who has been named Kenya’s Ambassador to Brazil.

In addition, former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has been nominated as Cabinet Secretary for Investment, Trade, and Industry.

The job originally held by Salim Mvurya, who has been relocated to the Sports Ministry, is vacant with the appointment of Kipchumba Murkomen as Interior CS.
