Uganda’s Museveni Graces Piny Luo Festival While Ruto Carries Goodies To Nyanza
On Thursday, President William Ruto and his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Kaguta Museveni attended the Piny Luo Cultural Festival in Siaya, alongside former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Museveni was welcomed into Kenya by Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi at the Busia border before travelling to Siaya for the function.
“Piny Luo Cultural Festival is today honoured to host H.E President William Ruto and H.E President Yoweri Museveni at Got Ramogi. We thank them for creating time to celebrate our culture,” Raila said in a statement on X.

Raila further stated that Ker Odungi Randa utilized this occasion to establish the two presidents as Luo elders.
President Ruto declared that the government would hand up significant freebies to Nyanza County inhabitants.

Among the notable gifts was the recognition of Nyang’oma Technical College’s Ramogi institution as an independent institution.
According to Ruto, elevating the institution will assist in preserving the Luo community’s rich cultural history by allowing students to learn from it.

“In honour of this event, and the presence of our friend Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, we will then announce that this Ramogi Campus is officially opened today,” Ruto announced.
Ruto has been eager to improve his political standing in the Nyanza area since the decision to include opposition figures in the broad-based cabinet.
The event, themed “Luo Unity in Diversity and in Diaspora,” aims to bring together the Luo people from throughout the world.
The event will end on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
