Court Detains Man Arrested With Wife’s Body Parts For 21 Days
A Nairobi court has granted police permission to keep murder suspect John Kiama Wambua for 21 days so that investigations may be completed.
Wambua, 29, is accused of brutally killing his wife. He was caught early Tuesday morning in Nairobi’s Huruma district, carrying a strange bag containing human body parts.
According to the investigating officer, during interrogation, the defendant directed authorities to his home, where other body parts were discovered stashed beneath the bed.
Wambua reportedly acknowledged that the remains belonged to his 19-year-old wife, Joy Fridah Munani.

According to court documents, the suspect admitted to killing his wife following an altercation after discovering her with another guy.

He allegedly admitted to dismembering the body in an attempt to dispose of it.
The court has been notified that some essential components of the inquiry remain outstanding, including notifying the victim’s relatives and recording testimony from key witnesses.
Police from Huruma Police Station, in coordination with the DCI’s Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, performed a site investigation and seized one of the alleged murder weapons.
The accused appeared before Milimani Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe.
