‘Serikali Ya Kutenga Uongo And Launching Transformers!’ – Gachagua Goes Bare Knuckle On Ruto

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has criticised his former employer, President William Ruto, for his recent development visit in the Western region.

Gachagua accused Ruto of corruption and described his administration as a government of liars.

He was speaking on Monday, January 27, 2024, at the unveiling of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K)’s new headquarters in Karen, Nairobi.

The former Mathira Member of Parliament (MP) expressed concerns about several of the initiatives Ruto introduced in Western during his tour.

He said that Ruto had violated the pact he had struck with the Western region’s inhabitants.

Gachagua ridiculed the president for launching transformers during his Western tour rather than fulfilling the vow to build 1000 kilometers of roads.

He also begged President Ruto to avoid tying him to corruption, claiming that he has never been involved in any scandal in the country.

Gachagua went on to accuse Ruto of leading a lie-filled government, claiming that he was fired from his role as second in command for refusing to assist the president in committing lies.

“Mr President, be an honest man, look for a mirror before you talk about corruption and look at yourself,” Gachagua mocked.

“The people of Kenya are very intelligent. Rigathi Gachagua has not been associated with any scandal in this country. So wewe unaenda pale unasema he is incompetent.

“In matters incompetence Mr President, I tent to agree with you to a certain extent. Serikali yako ni ya uwongo, kutenga, kudanganya watu,” Gachagua said.

“Uliandika mkataba na watu wa Western ukasema utajenga 1000km, hujajenga. Umekuwa hapo juzi unafungua transformer. Mimi ulitaka nikusaidie kudanganya Wakenya, in matters kudanganya Wakenya I am incompetent, I accept.”

Gachagua had already lashed out at President Ruto, accusing him of turning what was supposed to be a development visit in Western Kenya into a personal vendetta against him.

President Ruto utilized the Western tour to continue his accusations against Gachagua.

Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, for example, requested that Gachagua resign following his impeachment.

Speaking in Kakamega County on January 21, 2025, during Ruto’s development trip of the region, Mudavadi stated that after Gachagua’s expulsion, he is prohibited by law from holding any public position, even that of a nyumba kumi elder.
