‘We Pray For Raila, Opposition Still Strong!’ – Kalonzo Expresses His Voice On Kenyan Politics

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has confirmed that the opposition is still active and strong.

“We have come to tell you that opposition is still in place. We shall not accept the country to go on the wrong path,” Kalonzo said on Sunday when he addressed Dagoretti residents.

“We pray for the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to bag the AUC chairmanship bid. If he gets it, in the next election those who are remaining to go head-on for the top seat.”

The Wiper leader was joined by Nairobi Senator and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, among other leaders.

The leaders stated that they will continue to fight for Kenyans’ rights.

In 2024, Kalonzo stated that those who remain in the Azimio alliance will continue to support the Kenyan people’s call for better governance.

“Those of us remaining in Azimio believe that we will continue to be on the people’s side, and that’s why we have said that we are the people’s loyal opposition.”

On his part, Sifuna issued a warning to Orange Democratic Party members who were considering leaving the party.

The SG stated that he is in ODM to stay, and that those who are tired of battling for Kenyans can leave the party.

Speaking at a church service on Sunday, Sifuna stated that some members have forgotten what the party stands for.

“There are people in the ODM party who have forgotten where the party came from and what it stands for,” Sifuna said.

“Others are telling me that they are now tired of speaking for Kenyans, they are saying they were not born to stay in the opposition. They are saying they are tired of fighting for the rights of Kenyans.”

“I want to tell them that I will continue standing for the truth if something is not going on well, It is bad and we shall speak it however it is,” he added.

“Those who feel like they are tired of fighting for Kenyans and standing for the truth should just leave ODM.”

Sifuna stated that liberating a country is a difficult undertaking that may take some time to complete.

“Some of you have joined ODM the other day, two weeks before nomination and you are already tired saying that you want to join the government,” he said.
