Truck Dashcam Reveals Last Moments Before Tragic Probox Crash In Meru

Dashcam footage shared online on Saturday, February 1, captured the final minutes before a speeding Probox ferrying muguka collided with a lorry in a deadly traffic accident near Njuri on the major Embu-Meru Highway.

The terrible accident occurred on Wednesday, January 29, and two persons died on the scene.

One passenger survived and was swiftly transported to the Chuka Level 5 Hospital for emergency care.

The camera showed the truck cruising down a freeway drop before the catastrophe occurred. After negotiating a corner, the Probox appears in view, approaching at high speed.

While attempting to handle the curve, the Probox driver appears to lose control and crashes into the truck.

A boda boda rider in close proximity to the truck narrowly escapes death as the truck mistakenly prevents the car ferrying Muguka from colliding with his motorcycle.

The camera revealed no other vehicles at the location at the time of the accident, which happened in the afternoon.

The incident left the Probox in a mangled mess, and the truck’s front bumper was damaged.

Moments after the collision, first responders rushed to the scene to help recover the bodies from the wreckage.

Later photographs circulated on social media showing traffic police from Chuka on the scene, attempting to handle the situation while a mob hovered about the site of the crash.

The disaster occurred more than a week after a speeding pickup ferrying Miraa smashed into two unsuspecting pedestrians on Kitui-Kibwezi Road in Kitui County.
