‘I’ll Abolish ID Discriminatory!’ – Ruto Promises Northern Kenya Residents While Blasting Gachagua
President William Ruto has retaliated against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who criticized the present regime for imposing a high tax load on Kenyan salaried workers.
Ruto lambasted Gachagua for damaging the government’s agenda by attempting to split Kenyans along regional lines and using people’s pay stubs.
On Tuesday, the Head of State spoke at the Mandera Teachers Training College in Mandera County.
Ruto criticized his former deputy for being leaderless, lacking moral authority, and having no plan to control Kenyans’ decisions.
The Head of State further assured Kenyans of the government’s resolve to eliminate such retrogressive criticism, stating that persons like Gachagua had no future in the country’s political arena.
“I want to assure you that those attempting to divide us will fail miserably. Now, they are attempting to divide us into those coming from Mt Kenya and those from the Rift Valley and those with or without payslips,” Ruto commented.

“These people have no plan, agenda, or ideas. They are leaderless and they will not succeed in dividing our nation, they will fail!” he added.
While rallying for unity, the president announced the abolition of the vetting process previously used in the Northern counties for Kenyans seeking Identification Cards (IDs).
“The issue of vetting which was discriminatory to the people of Northern Kenya and which made them seem like they were not part of Kenya when looking for an ID, I am going to abolish it,” the Head of State pledged.
Meanwhile, Gachagua recently attacked Ruto’s administration of draconian tax policies, claiming that they afflicted the majority of employed Kenyans.
Speaking at his Wamunyoro Home in Kiambu County, Gachagua raised worry over the government’s increased deductions on paid Kenyans.

Gachagua promised Kenyans during a live TikTok session that he would fight for the reduction of excessive taxes placed on them.
The former DP also vowed to host a discourse with young Kenyans, particularly those in the internet sphere, to discuss the next steps.
“We want to restore the payslips because the government tampered with them and it has caused a lot of problems for Kenyans,” Gachagau stated.
“By resolving it, Kenyans will be able to continue with their duties smoothly.”
