FOOTBALL: Kenya’s FKF Responds To Viral Clip Of Attack On Match Officials, Policewoman
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has denounced unruly supporters’ frequent attacks on match officials and security staff, following another viral video this week.
According to the Federation, such behavior has no place in sports, and those who engage in it will face legal consequences.
It stated that relevant committees will convene meetings to assess the instances and take suitable action.
“FKF strongly condemns any form of hooliganism, including attacks on match officials and security personnel. Such incidents have no place in football, and individuals found culpable will face strict disciplinary action.
“The relevant FKF committees will convene to review recent cases and take appropriate measures in line with established regulations,” FKF said.

The football governing body has stated that it will continue to provide a fair and safe environment for all stakeholders in the sport.
“Football Kenya Federation (FKF) acknowledges the concerns raised regarding the standard of officiating in our leagues,” the FKF statement continued.
“We recognise the crucial role referees play in upholding fairness and the integrity of the game.”
The remark comes after a viral video showed a supporter storming the pitch during a current match between Migori Youth FC and Nairobi United.
A Migori Youth FC fan was spotted protesting the second goal conceded by his team against Nairobi United on Sunday at the MPESA Foundation, which escalated to him kicking a policewoman.#FootballKE pic.twitter.com/veOJNxtUUu

He addressed the referee over how he was refereeing the game after his team conceded a second goal.
He then attempted to attack the referee and his assistants, despite attempts by players and police officials to intervene, which were unsuccessful.
Toward one point, he is seen charging toward a policewoman who had pulled the referee away from the confrontation, before kicking the female officer.
As two male police officers intervened, the fan was seen pointing fingers at them in an apparent warning.
