Ruto, Senator Dullo Heckled By Angry Isiolo Residents
On Friday, February 7, Senator Fatuma Dullo of Isiolo and President William Ruto were heckled they rose to address Isiolo locals.
Dullo rose to speak, but was met with cries of “Dullo Must Go” and “Ruto Must Go” from the audience.
In a currently viral footage, a highly irate audience drowned out their attempts to address them.
Dullo stepped away from the mini-stage used by local leaders, having been overwhelmed by the relentless chanting.

“There is nothing much to be said here, thank you very much,” she conceded.
President Ruto was there during the incident and observed what happened.
Dullo was one of several local officials set to speak at Ruto’s rally following the groundbreaking ceremony for the Isiolo County Aggregation and Industrial Park.
After she was heckled, another local leader who stood to speak received a warm greeting and delivered his speech.
After his brief statement, Ruto called the rally to a close before things got out of hand.

Isiolo’s heckling comes just over two weeks after Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo suffered a similar fate in front of President Ruto.
During Ruto’s development tour in the Western region, where he presided over the opening of the Luanda Modern Market, Ottichilo was mortified when the crowd became hostile as he took the microphone.
The residents loudly expressed their unhappiness, drowning out his efforts to speak.
In a video released on X, the governor received an unambiguous rejection in front of the President.

“On behalf of the people of Luanda, I would like to send my appreciation …” Ottichilo began.
But he was swiftly overwhelmed by jeers. He was unable to retake control and eventually gave up and walked away.
Ruto, who has witnessed elected politicians being heckled during his statewide tours, finds himself in yet another unpleasant circumstance on December 29, 2024.
This time, Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok faced public backlash following a religious service.
Footage shared online showed a sharp contrast in the crowd’s reaction: they remained enthusiastic throughout Ruto’s address but became noticeably furious when the President called Barchok to speak.

In the video, hundreds of Bomet locals gathered in Koiwa and raised their hands in protest, indicating that they did not want to hear from the governor.
Ruto, temporarily at a loss for words, watched the scene develop.
Barchok tried to calm the crowd, but his attempts were received with even louder jeers.
Shrugging off the incident, he turned to Ruto and blamed the antagonism on “internal wrangles” within the county.
