‘He Is Selfish With No Plan!’ – MP Salasya Blasts Raila After Parliamentary Committee Ouster
Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has launched a stinging attack on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader Raila Odinga, a day after he was removed from the National Assembly Committee on Regional Integration.
Salasya took to social media on Thursday to criticise the former Prime Minister for allegedly orchestrating the high-profile reshuffles.
“I was removed from the committee on regional integration and placed in the broadcasting and library services and taken back to welfare and food in the cafeteria. Raila is telling the people that he is consulting, he is a selfish man,” Salasya stated.
“We want to tell Raila that the days when you kept creating tension and people used to guess your political moves wondering what you were planning are gone. There is no plan, we know you.”

Salasya reflected on his early days in the Azimio la Umoja coalition, stating that it was clear that all Raila wanted was a seat at the table through conversations with President William Ruto.
In addition to criticizing Raila, Salasya targeted his National Assembly colleagues.
He asserted that the legislature had lost its independence and was now controlled by the executive branch of government.
However, the outspoken member insisted that being removed from the high-profile committee would not dissuade him, promising to continue fighting for his constituents.
“I want to tell those Members of Parliament who think that removing us from committees will stop us from delivering development—it will not happen, because I am a good planner,” Salasya declared.
“With the available CDF and proper management and supervision, we will still emerge among the top performers in this country.”
He concluded his passionate diatribe by advocating for constitutional reform that would eliminate political meddling in committee composition and ensure that members are chosen solely on merit.
Salasya was one among numerous MPs removed from committees, including Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.

Nyoro was demoted from Chair of the Budget and Appropriations Committee to ordinary member.
Those most affected were vocal supporters of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who were moved to less powerful committees.
Among them was Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, who was ousted as Chairperson of the Constitutional Oversight and Implementation Committee and allocated to the Members’ Services Committee.
Others who received similar demotions were Kipipiri MP Wanjiku Muhia, Embakasi North MP James Gakuya, and Kajiado North MP Onesmus Ngogoyo.
