The handshake agreement between President William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga looks to be drawing closer.

ODM has won key House committees, notably the Budget and Appropriations Committee, which was formerly chaired by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.

The influential committee will now be led by Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi.

The Health Committee, which was formerly chaired by Endebes MP Dr. Robert Pukose, will now be led by an ODM politician, with Seme lawmaker Dr. James Nyikal expected to take the lead.

Ken Chonga of Kilifi South is anticipated to lead the Labour Committee, while Nominated MP Irene Mayaka of Nyamira is expected to chair the Regional Integration Committee in next week’s elections.

ODM has not only obtained chairmanship positions with UDA but also vice-chair posts in crucial dockets such as Lands and Education.
