ELDORET: Boda Boda Rider Detained For Reportedly Killing Form 2 Student

Police in Eldoret have detained a guy accused of murdering a Form 2 student who is said to be his lover.

The tragedy occurred at Gem Farm in the Moiben sub-county of Uasin Gishu.

The suspect, a boda boda rider, surrendered to police on Friday and allegedly admitted to the murder.

According to Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi, the suspect picked up the girl from a mixed secondary school in the area where she was enrolled.

He then brought the girl to a Gem Farm to spend some time together.

“The suspect later called the local chief and informed him that he had killed his girlfriend,” said Mwanthi.

After notifying the chief of the horrible conduct, the man who runs a boda boda company in the same location walked to the local police station to report the occurrence.

He claimed the chief and police raced to the scene, where they discovered the girl’s body wrapped in a blanket.

“He was then arrested and locked up as we launched investigations into the incident,” said Mwanthi.

Mwanthi stated that the cause of the killing was unknown, but the man will be interrogated to provide details.

The male is suspected of strangling the girl following an argument about unspecified topics.

Mwanthi recommended parents to always monitor their children’s locations, particularly those who attend day schools.
