“They Are Just Goons!” – Jesus Winner Ministry Bishop Says On Youth Congregants
Bishop Edward Mwai of Jesus Winner Ministry in Roysambu, Nairobi, has forgiven the youth who abused him after taking a Sh20 million donation from President William Ruto.
Mwai also stated that he had asked the police to free scores of young people who were imprisoned after visiting his church with the purpose of ‘occupying’ it.
“All those who have insulted me and called me names, I have forgiven each and every one of them. I have also asked God to forgive them,” he said.
Addressing the congregation during Sunday church service, Mwai claimed that politicians were exploiting the youth who planned to protest his church for personal benefit.
“Our children are being used badly, God forgive them. There are those who were here, and they are just goons, some of them even had Jesus Winner Ministry badges,” he said.

Earlier, Nyeri clerics asked the youth to call off their preparations to occupy the Jesus Winner Ministry offices in Roysambu.
Religious leaders defended Bishop Mwai for accepting Ruto’s contribution on March 2.
“We have no means of determining whether money donated to church is clean or dirty,” Reverend Veronica Waruguru of Jesus Winner Ministry, Nyeri, explained.
She stated that the church has no way of authenticating the origins of cash gifts.
Reverend Benson Mwangi encouraged other church leaders to accept donations made to them.
“Bishop Mwai was right in accepting the money because he is doing what he is supposed to do; that is taking care of orphans, widows and unprivileged members of the society,” Mwangi added.
Reverend Martin Mwangi criticized those who have attacked Mwai for taking the donation.
“My appeal to Gen Zs is: do not go there to demonstrate. Just go there to pray and worship,” he urged.
Mwai previously disclosed that he and his wife had been receiving abusive messages, forcing him to purchase new mobile lines.

On March 6, just days after making the donation, President Ruto hosted Mwai at the State House.
On Sunday, the President also committed to rally his supporters to fund an additional Sh100 million for the church’s construction, which is anticipated to cost Sh1 billion.
