Gachagua Reveals Why He Postponed Political Party Launch
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that he purposefully delayed the creation of his political party out of fear that the government would disrupt his plans.
Gachagua made the statement while speaking at a church gathering in Kitengela, stating that numerous unnamed government officials were plotting to thwart the launch of his ‘political vehicle’.
According to Gachagua, he was on track to announce his party, but he needed to make changes with his political opponents in mind.
“You are saying I have delayed you with the launch of the party. I could not just announce it,” Gachagua confirmed.
“I said our car is in the showroom, but I knew between the showroom and the stage, it might place obstacles. So I had to make adjustments. But the vehicle is ready.”
The former DP also stated that the national chairperson of his new political party would be from Kajiado County.
In another swipe at the Kenya Kwanza government, Gachagua leveled various claims against President Ruto, accusing him of handing over the Bomas of Kenya to a Turkish businessman.

“The Turkish national is a close friend to someone powerful in this country. Ruto has two years to do everything he wants. The other day you saw who has joined him in government,” the former DP divulged.
Gachagua went on to target Kenya Kwanza friends, accusing them of being too scared by the head of state to report malfeasance within the administration.

After repeated failed attempts to unveil his ‘political vehicle’, Gachagua claimed in February that his new party would be announced in May 2025, but he did not reveal any other information.
The launch will take place in Nairobi so that fans of the former DP can travel from all over the country.
With the political landscape taking shape, Gachagua appears to have decided on Wiper Party head Kalonzo Musyoka and new People’s Liberation Party boss Martha Karua to form a formidable alliance to challenge Kenya Kwanza’s rule in the approaching elections.
Admittedly, Gachagua faces an uphill battle, especially because his side will face a group comprised of the top two candidates who received the majority of votes in the 2022 general election.
