UDA MP Warns Youths Against Attending Morara Kebaso’s Rally

Didmus Barasa, a Kimilili Member of Parliament, has cautioned youths not to attend a protest in Uhuru Park organized by Inject party leader Morara Kebaso.

In a social media post on Wednesday, March 19, Barasa alleged that Morara was lying about his Jobless Rally Day event on Monday, March 24.

Barasa accused Morara of working for former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, claiming that Morara would profit from the event based on the number of attendees.

He further asserted that the larger the throng at Uhuru Park, the more money Morara would earn. Barasa warned the youths to be alert, claiming that Morara was manipulating their battles for personal gain.

“Morara urges youth to gather at Uhuru Park on Monday, March 24 for Jobless Rally Day, yet he has been offered a job by Wamunyoro and Gachagua,” Barasa stated.

“The more you fill the place, the more he gets paid. Be alert, you guys! Morara is at work.”

Morara called on youths to gather in Uhuru Park on March 24 for the Jobless Rally Day, which will demand jobs and better living circumstances.

In a video posted to his X account, he discussed the issues that young people experience as a result of unemployment.

Morara added that many struggle to meet basic demands because they do not have work.

He declared that the rally will begin at 9:00 a.m. in Nairobi and invited all unemployed youngsters to attend to show the government the gravity of the situation.

“We have been at the forefront in saying that the youth of Kenya have no jobs, they cannot feed themselves, they cannot survive, and they cannot even get married,” Morara stated.

“If you are a young person and you have no job, you are a jobless youth. We are starting the Jobless Youth Movement to agitate for youth employment.

“On March 24, we will be at Uhuru Park for the nationwide Jobless Rally. If you can make it, come at 9:00 am,” Morara added.

In a second article, Morara stated that the INJECT party does not use tribal divisions as a basis for political reform.

He went on to say that he hopes to collaborate with other leaders and political parties whose principles are similar to his own.

“INJECT Party has found it very difficult to continue associating itself with leaders who think tribally,” he said.

“Our party is not founded on tribal divisions as a basis for political change. It is our desire to work with other leaders and other political parties if their values align with ours.”

He did not, however, respond to the claims made against him by Barasa.
