[VIDEO] Ruto’s Security Officers Assault Nyandarua Residents, President Forced To Intervene
President William Ruto broke procedure on Thursday, asking his security detail to step aside and allow the crowd to approach him after some officers attempted to physically push them away.
The incident happened after Ruto built the groundwork for the Engineer Modern Market in Kinangop, Nyandarua County.
The President reprimanded his security team for attempting to prevent the public from approaching his motorcade.
Officers from the Kenya Wildlife Service, dressed in ranger uniforms, originally stopped the excited citizens who wanted to meet Ruto and listen to him speak.
Before Ruto interfered, one of the officers at the venue was spotted slapping some of the residents who attempted to approach them.

“You soldier, leave the citizens alone; let the citizens come. They came for a meeting,” Ruto said, to the applause of the hundreds of citizens who had gathered at the venue.
Soon after, the delighted crowd passed through the temporary barricade erected by KWS officers and other officials from various agencies.
Ruto was on his third day of the Mt Kenya working tour, and his reception elicited mixed reactions from lawmakers and locals, due in part to perceived differences with his former Deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.
Earlier, Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah had a nasty response after being heckled by an agitated audience in front of the President.
In videos posted on X, a disgruntled crowd could be seen openly criticizing Ichung’wah’s presentation with jeers and whistles, briefly delaying the lawmaker’s remarks.

During his third-day visit to the Mt. Kenya region in Ol Kalou Town, Nyandarua County, Ruto stated that the government has approved the establishment of the institution.
