‘My Net Worth Is Ksh.680 Million!’ – Broadcasting PS Nominee Reports
Stephen Isaboke, the Principal Secretary nominee for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, claims to have a net worth of around Ksh680.5 million.
On Friday, the former MultiChoice Group Executive and Head of Regulatory Affairs declared his riches to the National Assembly’s vetting committee.
He stated that his wealth consists of assets and bonds.
“My Net worth is Ksh.680, 519, 812, which is made up of land, houses and apartments, cars, shares and bonds and cash,” he said.
During the vetting, Isaboke pledged to maintain the rule of law while carrying out his mission to defend press freedom and speech.
He also welcomed conversations to ensure that his tenure runs smoothly and that all parties are involved in restoring order to the media.
“Media freedom and freedom of speech are enshrined in our constitution and no one can touch them…,” he said.

“My approach will be to refer to the law first and make sure the constitution is being respected by both government agencies and media operators.”
He added: “Media freedom is embedded in the Constitution. If there are instances of tension or misunderstandings between the media and other establishments, state or otherwise, the first intervention should be engagement.”
If confirmed, Isaboke will succeed outgoing Professor Edward Kisiang’ani, who was designated as senior advisor and member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
Mr Isaboke was nominated by President William Ruto late last month, following a Cabinet shuffle.
