CONGRATULATIONS! Famous ‘Misheveve’ Chief Has Retired
Protus Wechuli, the well-known ‘Misheveve’ chief who dominated the internet space, has retired.
Many Kenyans were heartened by the Saboti Chief’s funny narration of an alleged homicide case, which went viral.
His narration went viral on the internet, with many Kenyans rising to the challenge and appreciating the educational nature of his work.
Chief Wechuli has been at the forefront of fighting for justice and communicating the rights of girls and women in a way that the local community can understand.
In a statement issued on Saturday, DAP-K Party leader Eugene Wamalwa said Kenyans from all walks of life had celebrated the Chief.

Kenyans praised the Chief for his dedicated and distinguished service, which was felt not just among residents but also by Kenyans from all walks of life.
“One of the most popular Chiefs in Kenya Wechuli aka ‘Musieveve’ retired today and was celebrated by Kenyans from all walks of life for his distinguished service. What a joyous day in Saboti, Trans Nzoia County! Hongera my friend!” Eugene said in a statement on X.

In the film, which has gone viral for years, Chief Protus Wechuli is heard narrating how a guy was offended by the veggies his mother had prepared.

His mother had prepared’misheveve’ (pumpkin leaves), but he preferred ‘sarat’ (African kales).
The annoyance escalated into a confrontation in which the son jumped and threatened to beat up his mother.
When the father heard the ruckus in the bedroom, he ran to aid his mother.
The chief described how the man aimed for his father’s fingers and attempted to chew them as if he were eating ‘omena’ (sardine).
His narration captured the attention of many, with others saying that he is naturally hilarious and wants to connect with the community through his way of communication.

In an interview with Tumbili TV, Chief Wechuli said that the video of him narrating the incident was shot 14 years ago but has come to limelight recently.
“Akaulizia Mama, umepika mboga gani, mama akasema, leo nimeunda misheveve. Kijana akasema sikutaka hizi, nilitaka sarat,” the Chief narrated in 2008.
He added: “Akaanza sasa kumzaba Mama makofi, makofi kwa wingi tena zaidi, mzee kuamka kwa kitanda akasema hapana, mwanamke wangu hawezi nyengwa hivi.
“Alianza kwa kutafuna mzee vidole, alitafuna mzee vidole kama omena na kumbe anafanya hesabu ya minus kwa maisha yam zee na mzee ni mkasa.”
