‘It’s Wrong To Mislead Kenyans!’ – Miguna Blasts Gachagua Over 2027 Election Plot
Miguna Miguna, a controversial lawyer, has chimed in on the ongoing spat between Rigathi Gachagua and President William Ruto, quietly criticising the former deputy president for allegedly lying to Kenyans.
Miguna, known for his outspokenness on social media, took a shot at Gachagua when the former deputy president promised to ‘deal with Ruto’ in the 2027 general election.
“It’s also wrong for you to mislead Kenyans that the problems of abuse of power, repression, and barbarism ‘will be sorted out kwa debe in 2027,” Miguna said on X, formerly Twitter.
The lawyer was referring to Gachagua’s previous remarks during a church service in Mwiki on Sunday, April 6, which was nearly disrupted by goons.
Mr. @rigathi: It is NOT okay for @WilliamsRuto and @SakajaJohnson to send goons to disrupt church services and assault civilians—in or outside church.

Gachagua had earlier blamed the incident on the president and Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja, urging his supporters not to respond and instead to wait until 2027 to remove Ruto via the ballot.
Miguna, however, said that this strategy was unsustainable, accusing Gachagua of fooling his own followers.
“I don’t even care that you might have been sarcastic, cowardly, or both. Attacks on Kenyans must be condemned and fought. It’s not okay,” Miguna added.
His words came after Gachagua made caustic remarks on Sunday following a frightening security incident.
The former DP’s security detail was obliged to fire bullets to disperse a raucous mob attempting to infiltrate a church service that Gachagua was attending.
In the aftermath, Gachagua warned his supporters not to retaliate, blaming the president for allegedly organizing attempts to undermine him.

“My President. What happened to you? In a church? You have reached a different level,” Gachagua claimed.
“You sent me goons in Limuru last week, you sent goons to Nyeri, and now you’ve sent them to church. You have become bold.”

Miguna further speculated that Gachagua’s decision to wait until the polls to depose his former employer was misguided.
The outspoken lawyer claimed that there was an attempt to undermine the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
These opinions were also shared by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Musyoka claimed on Tuesday, April 1, that the existing procedure of selecting new IEBC commissioners and a chairman violated the National Dialogue Committee’s (NADCO) principles.
