‘BE WARNED!’ – DCI Chief Amin Slams Gachagua’s Assassination Allegations
DCI Director Mohamed Amin has advised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua not to interfere with major security matters.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday, April 19, the DCI chief chastised Gachagua for allegedly demonstrating theatrics in the media, citing major security concerns.
In response to Gachagua’s recent assassination claims, Amin urged the former DP to go through the proper channels and report the incident to the nearest police station.
He stated that Gachagua, like any other Kenyan citizen, would receive the security attention he required to ensure his safety and that his property was secure.
“If the former Deputy President has an issue in matters concerning the threat to his life and property, he should go and report to the nearest police station and stop engaging in media theatrics,” Amin commented.
“Any report, just like other citizens of the country, would be investigated to its logical conclusion,” he added.
“I associate myself fully with the sentiments of the Inspector General and encourage Gachagua to report the matter to his nearest police station.”

Mohamed Amin’s statement came just four days after the former DP highlighted concerns about claimed assassination attempts and ongoing violence against his life.
Gachagua, in a statement written to IG Douglas Kanja on Tuesday, April 15, urged the police chief to take immediate action to defend his life, family, and property.

He went on to accuse Kanja of allegedly removing his security, claiming it was part of a well-planned scheme and a backward conspiracy to expose him to organised criminal gangs.
Gachagua also claimed that National Intelligence Service (NIS) agents violated his right to privacy by trailing him and his family in unmarked automobiles.
Rigathi Gachagua: I do not feel safe. On 30th August in Kisumu, undercover security agents entered my room and bugged it, and one of them tried to poison my food, but we detected it. National intelligence Service, please deploy this vehicle and this officer to do some useful work to enhance our security as a Nation.

It was pointless to waste fuel and man hours having him follow us all the way from Nairobi to Makueni yesterday.

“You are well aware that Security Agencies have been trailing me with marked and unmarked vehicles; notably on the 19th of December, 2024, a NIS officer with a fake car number plate trailed me for over 150 km in Makueni for reasons best known to yourselves,” Gachagua claimed.
“As you are aware, you have a constitutional responsibility and duty to protect the life and property of every Kenyan… However, in this case, Mr. Kanja, you are perpetuating crime and violence,” he added.
