Politician’s Vehicle Swept By Floods, TWO People Missing
A search and rescue effort has been initiated to locate two persons after severe floods carried away an Isiolo County Assembly member’s automobile.
According to accounts, the Toyota Prado, owned by Oldonyiro MCA David Lemantile, was swept away by flash floods last night with three people on board.
While the MCA was not a member of the trio, his vehicle was swept away by the waves at the KMC Bridge when the occupants drove to Isiolo from the Kipsing area.
However, during the incident, the third occupant managed to escape via the vehicle’s window.
Police personnel from the Isiolo Police Station hurried to the location shortly after receiving word of the tragedy and were able to recover the car.
However, they were unable to locate the missing duo.

In a second instance, flooding carried away a lorry ferrying goods as it attempted to cross the Majimoto River in Mogotio, Baringo County, on Saturday morning.
Witnesses reported that the incident occurred following heavy rainfall upstream, which caused the river to overflow its banks, resulting in flooding within the area.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Meteorological Service on Friday, April 18, cautioned Kenyans living in various parts of the country to brace for heavy rains during this Easter weekend.
