Court Sentences Woman To 40 Years Imprisonment For Killing Ex-Lover
The High Court in Nanyuki has sentenced a woman to 40 years in prison for murdering her ex-lover, bringing a conclusion to a seven-year legal battle.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) on Friday, June 6, the court found the lady guilty of an offense committed on December 4, 2018.
According to the chief prosecutor, on the night of the occurrence, the accused, along with two accomplices, unlawfully entered the deceased’s apartment and murdered him.
The deceased, a former lover and businessman in Nanyuki, was also stolen from personal belongings, home stuff, and his vehicle.
During the sentencing hearing, the prosecution, led by Ms Esther Kimani, presented various aggravating elements.

The High Court in Nanyuki convicted Jane Wanjiru Macharia yesterday for the murder of George Gachibi Karegwa, which occurred on 4th December 2018.

It was discovered that the accused was already serving three terms for separate robberies and had two more ongoing robbery cases pending in court.
The prosecution further claimed that the other crimes were done while the accused was out on bond in the current murder case, resulting in the revocation of her bond.
According to reports, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) apprehended the woman and her accomplices at a petrol station in Murang’a the day after the guy was discovered dead.
They were located with the victim’s stolen car and electrical devices.
The woman is reported to have worked as a waitress at the businessman’s entertainment establishment.

On December 4, 2018, his colleagues discovered the victim lying in a pool of blood after he failed to answer their calls and did not report to work.
The man was found with several stab wounds on his body.
The woman, who initially rejected the claims, was known to be the man’s girlfriend due to their regular sightings together and visits to his home.
Even yet, the specific cause of the murder remained unknown, but unsubstantiated sources suggested that the victim’s death was the result of a fight.
