Samidoh Meets Matiang’i In The US Amid Police Defection Charges
Days after the National Police Service said that Administration Police Constable Samuel Ndirangu Muchoki, often known as Samidoh, had left duty, the famed Mugithi singer was spotted with former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.
The two met in the United States on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, as part of Samidoh’s tour.
Photos posted online show Samidoh shaking hands with Matiang’i outside what looks to be a restaurant.
Samidoh is now in the United States for a series of activities, including live performances, that will run through July 14, 2025.

Matiang’i, a 2027 presidential candidate, is reportedly collaborating with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Although Samidoh has not openly connected with any political party, he recently sparked controversy by apparently advocating demands for William Ruto’s one-term presidency during a live performance.
The event took place two days after he met with Deputy President Kithure Kindiki at his official residence in Karen.
This Thursday, the National Police Service ordered Samidoh’s arrest, accusing him of failing to return from official leave.
According to an internal memo dated June 9, 2025, Samidoh, who is presently assigned to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (MTD Company), was supposed to return to duty on May 27, 2025, but has not reported back since.
Authorities reportedly lost communication with him, and efforts to locate him have been futile.
“The officer was granted off-duty and was supposed to report back on May 27, 2025, but he failed. Since then, he has not been seen and his whereabouts are not known,” the memo stated.

The transmission was sent from Stockpol Gilgil to all important police formations, including DISGEN APS, Vigilance House Nairobi, the Central Records Office (CRO) in Nairobi, and all Station Police Commanders (Stapols) nationwide.
Samidoh was officially designated a deserter on June 6, 2025, after being gone without official leave (AWOL) for more than 10 days.
As part of the disciplinary process, the Pay Section has been instructed to suspend his wages with immediate effect. Stockpol MTD Company has also been directed to take additional administrative measures.
Furthermore, the Central Records Office in Nairobi has been directed to publish the desertion notice in the next issue of the National Police Gazette.
