Man Throws 5-Year-Old Baby From Balcony in Nairobi
Residents of a Nairobi estate are mourning the murder of five-year-old Amanda Mutheu, who died at the hands of her uncle, whom she trusted.
In a terrible turn of events, witnesses reported that the incident occurred on Thursday night when the male, named by the authorities as her uncle, stormed their home and discovered baby Mutheu with her nanny.
The man, clearly upset and drunk, made a ruckus before overpowering the nanny and violently removing Mutheu from her arms.

Sensing impending peril, the housegirl dashed out, shouting for aid.
Before anyone could help, tragedy struck: the man hurled the child off the balcony.
“The management security patrolling the area, along with neighbours who responded to the screams, rushed to the scene. They were able to subdue the uncle and called the police,” a statement from the estate read in part.
The residents, visibly outraged by his callous behavior, launched a vicious assault on the man, beating him to a pulp.

However, the cops responded quickly, sparing him from a mob intent on killing him.
While defending himself, the man stated that he loved the girl so much that he could not have tossed her off the balcony; instead, he claimed that he threw a doll.
“I did not throw Mutheu, I love her so much, what I threw was a doll, you can check on the CCTV footage, it’s a doll that I threw, not a child,” the man told the residents.
Police from Kahawa West Police Station arrested the suspect and sent him to Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he was treated for injuries.

The event has sent shockwaves across the community, who are now demanding justice for the young girl who had a bright future.
Mutheu had started an acting career and appeared to be talented based on the videos she had released.
