Liverpool’s Diogo Jota, His Brother Killed In An Accident In Spain
Liverpool star Diogo Jota has died in a car accident, according to Spanish daily Marca.
The Portuguese international got involved in an accident in Zamora province. He was 28.
He was travelling with his brother Andre Silva, a 26-year-old Penafiel player who was also slain, when the automobile veered off the road and caught fire.
A post on X from the Zamora Provincial Council said: “Two young people have died in an accident on the A-52 (Palacios de Sanabria).”
Jota joined the Reds from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2020 and went on to make 182 appearances, winning two Premier League titles along the way.

During that span, the 28-year-old scored 65 goals and added 26 assists.

Before joining the Premier League, Jota, who was born and raised in Porto, climbed through the levels of Gondomar before being identified by Atletico Madrid in summer 2016.
Prior to joining Wolves in 2017, he was on loan at Porto.
Jota went on to contribute significantly to Liverpool’s success under Jurgen Klopp and, more recently, Arne Slot.
