KURA Responds To Resignation, Terminal Leave Reports

Silas Kinoti, the Director General of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), has made a statement in response to reports on social media reporting his departure.

In a statement issued on Friday, July 11, Kinoti stated that the reports were inaccurate and deceptive.

Kinoti addressed the allegation on his social media accounts, stating that he is not on terminal leave, as alleged.

“Contrary to the claims being spread, I, Eng. Silas Kinoti, Director General of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), I’m NOT proceeding on terminal leave,” Kinoti said.

“These allegations are completely FALSE, MISLEADING, and should be treated with the disregard they deserve.”

He also warned the public to be wary of misinformation on social media and to rely on established channels for verified updates.

“The public is hereby urged not to fall prey to misinformation and to rely only on official communication channels for verified updates regarding KURA and its leadership.”

“We remain fully committed to our mandate of developing and maintaining quality urban road infrastructure across the country, and I continue to discharge my duties in that capacity without interruption,” he added.

KURA also issued a statement denying Kinoti’s resignation.

The Authority stated that the information was incorrect and that he had not gone on terminal leave.
