FOUR Ruto CSs Make Fresh Changes To Ministry Departments

Several boards in several Ministries have changed leadership after Cabinet Secretaries appointed and reappointed members.

In a Gazette Notice dated August 8, Transport CS Davis Chirchir reappointed Alvin Abwe to the Kenya Railways Corporation’s Board of Directors for another three years.

Habwe was essentially reappointed immediately following the conclusion of his last service, which lasted from February 23, 2024, to July 12, 2025.

He’d been appointed by President William Ruto.

Meanwhile, Water CS Eric Mugaa reappointed Hafswa Abdalla Dele, Judith Wabosha Mwamburi, and Mohamed Masoud Mwahima to the Coast Water Works Development Agency Board of Directors for a three-year term.

The CS also reappointed Millicent Oduor Olando and Mwita Maisro to the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency’s Board of Directors.

Sammy Letema and David Kipchirchir Kimetto were re-appointed to the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency’s Board of Directors.

In addition, CS Mugaa named Hared Singira and Anastacia Nyagaki Njoroge to the Board of Directors of the Tana Water Works Development Agency.

Meanwhile, Beatrice Mbete Musyoki has been appointed to the Tanathi Water Works Development Agency’s Board of Directors.

Education CS Julius Ogamba made reforms at certain universities, notably Kaimosi Friends University College, after naming Prof Stanley Khainga as non-executive chairperson of the University’s council.

Jones Musyoki Kimeu (CPA) was appointed to the Council of Rongo University after Willy Kioko Malile’s nomination was canceled.

In the same breath, CS William Kabogo of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy annulled Musangi Mutua’s appointment as non-executive Chairperson of the Garissa University Council for the next three years, following his fresh appointment by CS Ogamba.

Mutahi Kagwe, the Agriculture CS, also appointed Musa Abdullahi Sheikh to the Commodities Fund’s Board of Trustees.

Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen extended the term of the Technical Committee on Review and Development of Legislative and Policy Reforms for the National police Service and the National Youth Service for nine months until  February 2026.

Gender CS Hannah Wendot also extended the term of the Steering Committee and Secretariat for an extra year from August 1 to August 31, 2026.
