UDA’s Malava By-Election Aspirant Collapses, Dies During Public Rally
Enock Andanje, a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate for the impending Malava by-election, died after falling during a public event on Friday.
Andanje was attending a widows’ empowerment event in Malava, which was also attended by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, when he collapsed.
Attempts to resuscitate him at the scene failed, and he was brought to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, but local authorities have stated that a post-mortem examination will be performed to determine what happened.

According to Malava sub-county UDA secretary Harrison Tanga, the late Andanje encountered issues while arriving at the occasion.

He claimed his feet had become weak and he was unable to leave his vehicle. He was taken to Oasis Hospital and pronounced dead.
Dr. Andaje is the immediate former principal of Bungoma High School, who took early retirement to contest the Malava by-elections.
The Malava by-election was set to fill a vacancy caused by the death of the former office holder, Malulu Injendi.
Andanje was among the candidates vying for the party’s ticket ahead of the UDA primaries, which will take place in the coming weeks.
