“ODM Won’t Work With Gachagua!” – Kasmuel McOure
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has ruled out working with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on any political project.
In a statement on his official X account on Sunday, November 9, ODM Youth League head Kasmuel McOure stated that Gachagua’s political convictions differ from those of the party, making collaboration nearly impossible.
Kasmuel stated that the ODM youth league will continue to call out party members who attempt to urge others to join forces with Gachagua.
“However progressive a leader may appear, whether within our ranks in ODM or without, they will not convince us to work with Rigathi Gachagua,” Kasmuel said.
“We will continue to put pressure on those among us who are sympathetic to his politics, attempting to coax us by claiming it is ‘strategic’ not to provoke him,” he added.

According to Kasmuel, Gachagua’s “backwards” political strategy has played a significant influence in destabilising the country’s political ecosystem.
Kasmuel stated that ODM will continue working jointly with President William Ruto’s administration through the broad-based government as per the late leader Raila Odinga’s intentions.
Kasmuel also stated that the party’s youth league will advocate for additional reforms to ensure the party’s political viability.
“We shall remain within the Broad-Based Arrangement where Hon. Raila Odinga left us, and we shall push for all reforms necessary for a more prosperous Kenya within this framework,” Kasmuel said.

“Elected members of the ODM Party must meticulously undertake this task while actively involving the youth.”
He added: “We will continue to call out leaders, regardless of their position, who offer us lip service without genuine youth inclusion.”
The party will also not back down in holding the government in check, ensuring that the Kenya Kwanza administration adheres to its deal with ODM.
The MOU covers economic, social, and political empowerment, police reforms, and compensation for victims of police violence.
“You must work double-time to ensure this is achieved. This is our only condition for continued support as the youth,” McOure said.
