Gachagua Reveals What He ONLY Regrets After Impeachment
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has spoken out about the impact of his departure from the administration on his personal family, including his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi.
Speaking on Saturday afternoon in Nyeri County, Gachagua said that, although finding peace following his impeachment, he is deeply saddened that his wife is no longer able to help the boy child on the same scale that she formerly did.
He said that during his tenure in office, Dorcas led a boychild effort aimed at rehabilitating and protecting vulnerable young men suffering from depression and addiction.
According to Gachagua, who spoke to the congregation after his wife’s ordination as a reverend, Dorcas’ influence has significantly decreased since his departure as deputy president, badly hurting her boychild support campaign.
“Our humiliating exit from the office has been very pleasant to us because we have moved on, and we are happier people,” Gachagua said.
“The only regret that I have is that we left the office is that Dorcas is not able to help as many boys as she would have wanted.”

He added, “She is now not able to do very much as she would have wanted, but we support her as a family, and as we are here, we feel very disappointed.”
The former DP also voiced concern with the government’s reluctance to address the illicit alcohol problem, particularly in Central Kenya.
“We feel very disappointed that the work we have done to get rid of illicit brews and remove the boychild from the trenches failed,” Gachagua stated.
“The illicit brew is back, and the boys are back to the trenches. We feel very sad.”
During his speech, the Democracy for the Citizens’ Party (DCP) leader praised his wife, praising her as a devout, ardent servant of God.

During his heartfelt homage during the wife’s ordination ceremony, Gachagua described Dorcas as a beacon of hope whose passion for preaching the word of God has transformed not only their family but also the larger community.
He went ahead to praise his wife as the pillar of their home, further describing her as the glue that holds the family together.
He also expressed gratitude to his children for supporting their mother.

“She is a very great believer in family values, and she has put her family first, and we support her in her ministry. I want to thank my children for agreeing that we will always support Dorcas,” Gachagua said.
