Moses Kuria Claims ‘Powerful Offices’ Manipulated Aladwa
Chama Cha Kazi party leader Moses Kuria has broken his silence after Makadara MP George Aladwa publicly rejected his invitation to be his running mate in the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial contest.
Kuria stated Aladwa’s decision was influenced by strong offices.
The former Cabinet Secretary confirmed this in a social media statement on December 3, 2025, in which he expressed unhappiness with political developments.
Kuria claimed that influential offices summoned the Makadara MP and urged him to disclose a purported deal he had with the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader.
“George Aladwa was summoned last evening by holders of extremely powerful offices and ordered to denounce our agreement on Nairobi Governor ticket. I respect his decision,” Kuria alleged.

The former presidential adviser also urged those behind Aladwa’s purported political shift to relax.
He claimed that he wanted to save Nairobi, which he described as a ‘collapsing city’.
“I want to tell those forces to relax. I want to be Governor of Nairobi to save this collapsing city. But it’s not life and death affair for me,” Moses Kuria claimed.
On November 30, 2025, Moses Kuria uploaded a campaign poster on social media announcing George Aladwa as his running mate for the next general elections.

Not because of our parties.
Because we care for Nairobi
Because we understand what Nairobians are going through.
Because we have local, regional and global networks to fix Nairobi.

This indicated a potential partnership between the Chama Cha Kazi party and the ODM.
An announcement was criticized by an ODM Member of Parliament who declared on December 2, 2025, that he will run for governor of Nairobi under the ODM party in 2027.

“I have said that I will not be Moses Kuria’s deputy, I will be vying for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat under the ODM party in 2027,” Aladwa announced.

In his statement, Moses Kuria stated that he respects Aladwa’s choice to denounce the Kuria-Aladwa Nairobi ticket.
The former Cabinet Secretary now says that the move by the said ‘powerful forces’ has exposed their 2027 game plan.
A move that he insinuates will help him in his quest to remove Johnson Sakaja as the Nairobi Governor in 2027.
