ODM’s Gladys Wanga Steps Up Five-Piece Voting As Party Eyes DP Position
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairperson Gladys Wanga has asked the party’s supporters to adopt a five-piece voting strategy to strengthen the political standing of the party in future elections.
Wanga urged supporters to rally behind the party across all elective positions, including MCA, Member of Parliament, Women Representative, Senator, Governor, and even the Deputy President slot.
The Governor was speaking during the ODM Linda Ground Special Edition meeting held in Melelo, Narok County, on Saturday.
She framed the push as part of a major political mobilisation strategy aimed at ensuring the party maintains strong negotiating power in future political arrangements with the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
According to Wanga, the party will only leave the Presidential seat to their counterparts in the UDA party and will continue to champion the support of ODM across its strongholds across the country.
Her remarks were echoed by Minority Leader and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, who insisted that the party would not surrender any of its political seats to UDA.
The renewed push for the Deputy President position under the ODM “Tunataka Power” campaign has reportedly heightened political tension, with supporters of Deputy President Kithure Kindiki interpreting the demand as a potential threat to his succession political influence.
“We should not go to the negotiating table when we are afraid,” Wanga said.

“We should look for all these seats right from the MCA, MP, Women Rep, Senator, and Governor so that our party can also be strong.”
Adding, “When you go to the negotiation table with an empty bucket, you will not be given anything.”
At the same time, the ODM stalwart maintained that they would press on with the demand for the DP slot as well as a considerable number of senior government slots, such as the Cabinet Secretaries, in preparation for the 2027 elections.
Even so, Wanga assured all ODM supporters that their solidarity with the broad-based government will enable the government to fully implement the NADCCO report as well as the 10-point MoU between the party and UDA.
